DominIque and her HALO

Friday 27 Sept- Sat 28 Sept

I have been helping Dominique during her training with weekly Reiki sessions.
Here is her testimonial:
YOU CAN DONATE, too!

I’ll be supporting and offering Chair Massages on Saturday morning, the idea is also to bring a chocolate cake for the team 29′s brekkie before the last and not the least kilometers!

100km: The Hawkesbury to the Harbour
OXFAM TRAILWALKER

To keep the walkers going, some listen to music with their HALO HEADPHONES IN A BAND

Here is Dominique’s testimonial:

Dear friends, family, entrepreneurs, futurists, fellow trekkers…

This is my final update on our endeavour to alleviate life threatening circumstances and hopelessness in the world through raising funds for Oxfam and ‘chafing for charity’ over a 100km Trailwalker in Sydney.

MAIN EVENT

We – Team 29: “Up Down Repeat” kick-off at 7am Friday 27 August (see time zone conversions at the end of email) and aim to finish in about 28 hrs – yup, walking through the night.

PREPARATION AND RECOVERY DURING TRAINING

Two Catherines have helped me hang together properly during the training:

Since the beginning I wanted to help my ankle to be the best it could be. I had injured it badly during my first Trailwalker in 2002. Catherine Brastel is a neighbour and a Reiki and massage practitioner. She has introduced me to another art of body and energy recovery. I must admit that I went into Reiki with my agnostic sceptic hat on and a learning inclination. Reiki is difficult to explain and as such one needs to “believe it to see it”. (as Steve Jobs from Apple says about things off the beaten track). It worked though, in particular in releasing ‘heat’ on my sore bits and in increasing my energy. Thank you Catherine Brastel!!!! You donated your time to help me out and I am very grateful for that. A dinner awaits. Here is Catherine’s web-site for more info on what she does. http://yourcorebalance.com/

For this weakness I sought the help of Macquarie University Chiropractic Clinic and Research Lab. Since then I have learned a lot about how the whole body works (muscles, neurology, tendons and joints), how everything connects and why my patella started to cause me pain at the end of one of our 58km training walks AND most of all how to make it good again. Thank you Catherine Carter!!!! and the Mac Uni team.

All training is now done. It amounted to about 700 kilometers in total. I did some of that on the actual track that we will tackle and some during daily walks.

SUPPORT DURING THE EVENT

An awesome group of people have volunteered to be in our support crew. Without these people we could not do it: Tim Purcell, Jane Tribe, Catherine and Hugues Brastel as well as Justine Chambers and Melanie Junghans. They will be there for us, including in the middle of the night, when we’re cold, in pain, hungry and suspiciously withdrawn(…)

Thank you all again for your support and interest. Without you this would not be possible(…)

If you would like to cheer me on or heckle or other you can send me direct text messages on +61414802208. I will not be offended or disturbed if you don’t – everyone has other things to do but I would not mind :) If you do however, please do not be offended if I do not respond immediately as I will be in really awkward places at times – without coverage or hanging from a piece of rock or busy getting food, drink or body fixes. Remote healing and energy transfer gratefully received :)

Kind regards

Dominique
